With Nathan Heleine of Crush + Lovely and producer Tung Bach Ly, we walked down Magazine Street in New Orleans with a camera and a single question: "If you could wish for one thing to happen by the end of the day, what would it be?" Shot entirely on an amateur-grade Canon HV20 with a 35mm adapter and Nikon lens. Music by Four Tet.
The film went to Vimeo and took off — one of the internet's earliest viral web series. What followed were episodes in Brooklyn, London, and a PostSecret collaboration that hit a million views on Vimeo alone. Over the next decade, hundreds of community episodes were produced independently in 50+ countries. The format outlived our direct involvement and became something bigger than we imagined.
